FAQs

Do I need a licence to ride an E Bike?

No you don’t need a licence or registration, as long as the electric bike meets your local government requirements. The same road rules apply as regular bicycles. If you’ve lost your licence, an ebike could be a great option to get around.

How fast does it go?

A maximum 25 - 30km/hr with hand throttle on flat terrains. If you pedal and use throttle, you will go even faster than that. Not all models have hand throttles, some are pedal assist bikes only.

How far can you go on one charge?

Estimated distance of 30km - 100km per charge, depending which model you purchase, and depending on your riding style and terrain. If you are going up hills often, you will get less distance. If you do not pedal at all, and use the hand throttle only, you will get less distance.

Will my electric bike help riding up hills?

How long does it take to charge the battery?

A full charge could take 4-6 hours, but if you have only used it for a short time, even less.

Does it recharge the batteries while you pedal?

No, this is not the purpose of having an electric bicycle. The purpose is not to have to pedal hard to charge the bike battery. Instead, the aim is to pedal less and make it easier for you to get around.

Does an electric bike make noise?

They are very quiet. Compared to automobiles or motorcycle engines.

Conversion vs buying an ebike?

When you buy an electric bike, you’ll get the convenience of having a ready-to-go product, with warranty and service support included.

If you have a bicycle that you are really fond of and want to continue riding it, a bike conversion kit may be the more appropriate choice for you.
